The Library@Evans is a vibrant and active space, which strives to provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all staff and students. We have three areas of focus in our everyday practice:
We value LIFELONG LEARNING. In this endeavour, we place a strong focus on providing resources and support for all students, with particular focus on developing effective research and writing skills for academic study as well as for life. To support you in this, we provide a well resourced collection, and have implemented a whole school Research and Referencing Handbook, which outlines effective search skills and appropriate referencing conventions.
We value LOVE OF LITERATURE. From picture books to personal accounts, from graphic novels to the greats of literature, we love stories. We pride ourselves on providing a collection of stories that will touch your heart, capture your imagination, create new ideas, and encourage you to engage with the world in new ways. We are constantly listening to the requests of our students, and many of the new books that have been added to the collection this year have come from you. So, if you would like to read a particular book, or loved a certain movie and want to read something like that, please have a chat with us. You never know what you'll see on the shelves next!
We value COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS. The library is not just a space to keep the books - it's a place to encourage ideas and collaboration. We are constantly looking at ways to ensure that our library meets the needs of our students, whether that be a space to play cards at lunch time, a quiet safe space to read or study, or an area to work with some friends on a group project or the next great lego tower. We love spending our days here, and hope you enjoy your visit.
We are constantly updating this section, and have provided a variety of links for you in the sidebar. Please let us know if we can help you!
