Year 7-10 Sport:
Sport is compulsory for all students in Years 7-10 at Evans High School. Our school runs integrated sport on school grounds. Currently, Year 7 and 8 have one double period of sport each Friday during Periods 3 and 4 and Year 9 and 10 have one double period of sport each Thursday during Periods 3 and 4.
Students have the option to select their sport preference each term. The current sport choices are:
Touch Football, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Gym (indoor and outdoor), Dance, Badminton and Table Tennis.
School Carnivals:
Participation and enjoyment is the main aim of these carnivals. However, students are encouraged to compete to their full potential with the goal of successfully making the school representative teams to attend Zone Carnivals and hopefully to further progress to regional and state levels.
There are 3 sports carnivals each year which are compulsory school events. These carnivals are Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics.
State Knockout Teams (CHS):
Apart from the sports previously mentioned, students also have the opportunity to try out for State Knockout Teams in a variety of sports. These teams are a great opportunity for students who excel in particular sports to participate in a higher level competition. If a team wins a round, they continue to progress and play further rounds at a more challenging level. The continued participation and success of these teams at Evans High School is credit to our students and staff members. Students whom are interested in participating in these competitions should listen to announcements, check the notice board or ask at the PDHPE staffroom to find out when trials are running.
Sport Uniform:
All students from Years 7-10 participate in compulsory sport and practical lessons on a weekly basis and are required to be prepared for these lessons with their sport uniform.
The Evans High School sport uniform consists of the school's sport shirt available from the schools uniform shop. In addition, students must wear either the school sport shorts or track pants, along with appropriate sport shoes.
For all PDHPE practical lessons, students are required to wear full school uniform for all other lessons and change into their sport uniform before and after their practical lessons. However, students may wear their sport uniform to and from school on their sport day (Thursday for Year 9 and 10 and Friday for Year 7 and 8).
